Abstract. The Covid -19 pandemic directly interfered with the work of coaches. In the sporting context, it became relevant to understand how basketball coaches adapted to these changes in everyday life, both at work and in the personal sphere. Thus, the objective of the present study was to identify the perception of coaches of professional Brazilian women's basketball teams about stress and working conditions in the context of the Covid -19 pandemic. Six professional basketball coaches who worked on teams that competed in the 2020 season of the Women's Basketball League (LBF) participated in the study. The coaches were interviewed and the content of the interview was categorized and subcategorized with the help of experts. In total, 14 factors distributed into three categories were identified: social and work factors; psychophysiological factors; and return to activities. Coaches have been impacted from a variety of perspectives during the Covid -19 pandemic. In the social and work scope, the use of lives was the most used tool for work meetings and execution of training with the athletes. As for the psychophysiological dimension, the coaches presented different symptoms resulting from isolation. Finally, the gradual return to training and championships was the theme most discussed by the coaches, evidencing the expectation and anxiety regarding the return to face-to-face activities. The present study advances knowledge of the impacts of the Covid -19 pandemic on the sports environment. Despite the scenario of greater control of the pandemic after the advancement of vaccination, the restructuring of the sports system should still take a few years.
