Las personas que tienen un comportamiento sedentario tienen mayor prevalencia de sufrir diabetes mellitus tipo 2. Está demostrado que el entrenamiento aeróbico y los programas de acondicionamiento muscular producen mejoras en los pacientes que sufren esta enfermedad además ayudan a prevenirla siendo el periodo de embarazo en las mujeres clave. Se concluye que lo más adecuado en pacientes diabéticos es realizar un entrenamiento donde se combinen sesiones de fuerza con sesiones aeróbicas, llevando un control glucémico continuo.
Abstract. Sedentary indoviduals have higher prevalence of diabetes mellitus type 2. It has been shown that aerobic training and muscleconditioning programs produce improvements in patients suffering from this disease and also contribute to prevention, particularly during the key gestational period. It is concluded that it is most appropriate in diabetic patients to perform strength training sessions combined with aerobic sessions, while keeping a continuous glycemic control.
