The controversy surrounding the meaning of «puntar» in a famous stanza from the Libro de buen amor (70b) could perhaps be better resolved by also considering a passage from Jacobus of Liège’s Speculum musicae (I 17) in which, basing on Isidore, appear some similar concepts to those expressed by the Archpriest.
