Abstract

Ms. 19 from BNM contains a brief version of the famous letter about Mirabilia Orientalia, a pseudepigraphic epistle crucial for the tradition of the monsters and Orient marvels during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance; it has been preserved in two different redactions and in several manuscript versions. In this paper we present for the first time an edition and translation of the version of the codex Matritensis.
