La Educación Social, en su dimensión mediadora, puede facilitar los procesos educativos en las escuelas así como la articulación de las relaciones entre ellas y las comunidades locales en las que se integran. Desde esta convicción, analizamos el papel de las instituciones escolares y de las administraciones locales como impulsoras de un proyecto educativo territorial en el que, junto con otros profesionales y agentes comunitarios, los pedagogos y educadores sociales están llamados a desempeñar un papel activo.

Social Education, regarding its dimension as a mediator, can facilitate educational processes at schools, as well as the coordination among them and the local communities where they are located. From this conviction, we analise the role of education institutions and local authorities as driving forces of a territorial education project. Together with other professionals and community agents, educationalists and social educators are set to play an active role on that project.
