Relação entre funcionalidade motora e fatores antropométricos de risco cardiometabólico em bombeiros da região de Valparaíso, Chile

Resumo

Objetivo: O objetivo deste estudo foi descrever a funcionalidade motora de bombeiros por meio da bateria Functional Movement Screen (FMS), e identificar sua relação com fatores antropométricos de risco cardiovascular (RC). Método: Participaram 139 bombeiros, dos quais 122 correspondem a homens e 17 a mulheres pertencentes a 16 empresas de bombeiros da comuna de Valparaíso, Chile. A bateria de avaliação FMS foi aplicada e medidas de circunferência da cintura (CC), índice de massa corporal (IMC) e índice cintura-estatura (RCQ). Resultados: Baixas correlações entre as variáveis ​​antropométricas FMS e RC foram relatadas para as mulheres, enquanto que para os homens essas correlações foram significativas e negativas entre as variáveis ​​FMS e CP, ICE e IMC (r = -.37, p < . 001; r = -.34 , p < .001; –-.40, p < .002), respectivamente. 64,02% dos participantes do ICE foram classificados com RC elevada (≥ .50) e 73% no IMC nas categorias de sobrepeso e obesidade. De acordo com os resultados da avaliação da FMS, 45,33% dos participantes apresentam baixa funcionalidade motora. Conclusão: A baixa funcionalidade motora e os altos valores nos parâmetros antropométricos da RC são fatores que devem preocupar comunidades como as constituídas por bombeiros, que realizam tarefas de elevada exigência física e mental, em condições extremas que muitas vezes podem pôr em risco a saúde . dos próprios voluntários.
