Avaliação institucional da eficiência de um programa de educação social olímpica

Resumo

A utilização de programas para ensinar valores sociais através do esporte tornou-se popular nos últimos anos. No entanto, foram comunicadas evidências limitadas sobre a programação implementada por organizações governamentais na América Central. O objetivo do nosso estudo concentrou-se em analisar o estado de implementação de um programa de mentoria ministrado por atletas para centros educacionais escolares na Guatemala. Os objetivos da pesquisa foram alcançados através de uma abordagem quantitativa e da participação de 70 participantes envolvidos no programa. Os resultados mostram que o programa tem alto nível de aceitação entre professores e alunos; os atletas tornam-se modelos para os alunos e motivação para os professores durante o programa; O modelo de intervenção baseia-se numa sólida programação pedagógica padronizada, adaptada ao currículo educativo básico nacional. O modelo de sustentabilidade do programa é rentável, tornando-o sustentável. Pesquisas futuras devem ser realizadas para medir o impacto da programação nos alunos e pais envolvidos na intervenção do programa.
