Alfabetización física y movilidad activa en un contexto universitario: un estudio observacional transversal

Resumen

La alfabetización física (AFi) se describe como la motivación, la confianza, la competencia física, el conocimiento y la comprensión para asumir la responsabilidad de practicar actividad física (AF) de por vida. Unos estilos de vida más activos pueden contribuir a crear ciudades más sostenibles y sociedades más sanas. Objetivo: Este estudio pretende analizar la asociación entre varias dimensiones de la AFi y el nivel actual de AF y explorar la asociación entre varias dimensiones de la AFi, el nivel actual de AF y un indicador central para la sostenibilidad: el modo de desplazamiento. Método: Dentro del estudio LUSÓFONAtiva, 498 personas respondieron a una encuesta digital, con edades comprendidas entre los 18-80 años. Resultados: La puntuación total de la AFi, así como las dimensiones Motivación y Competencia Motriz, mostraron asociaciones positivas de magnitud media con la AF (r= .32, p<.001; r= .32, p<.001; r= .32, p<.001; respectivamente). Las dimensiones AFi Conocimiento, Oportunidad e Imagen Corporal revelaron una asociación positiva con la AF de baja magnitud (r=.12, p<.05; r=.12, p<.05; r=.12, p<.05; respectivamente). Los resultados de la asociación del nivel de AF con el Modo de Viaje (mayores puntuaciones - más viajes motorizados) mostraron una correlación negativa de baja magnitud (r=.20, p<.001). A su vez, la asociación de la Forma de desplazarse con la variable subir escaleras también mostró que existe una correlación negativa significativa (r=.08, p<.05). Conclusión: La AFi se relaciona con mayores niveles de AF y un mayor nivel de AF se asocia con una forma de moverse más sostenible.
