Abstract. Governance has become a vital aspect of sports organizations. Studies have analyzed the adoption of good governance practices by sport management institutions, as well as the impact it has on the performance related to the entity. However, it is not known what the perception of good governance is from the perspective of its stakeholders. Thus, this study aims to present content validity evidence for a new measurement instrument of the perception of good governance in sports institutions from the perspective of their stakeholders. Four judges participated in the study and responded to the first version of the instrument. Items were assessed for Clarity of Language (CL), Practical Relevance (PR), Theoretical Relevance (TR), and Theoretical Dimensionality (TD). For the CL, PR, and TR dimensions, Content Validity Coefficients (CVC) were calculated. For TD, on the other hand, Kappa coefficient calculus has been used, to assess the agreement between the judges' answers. The dimensions CL, PP, and PR presented CVC are considered “satisfactory” for the complete instrument. Regarding the results related to the DT, the dimension that showed the greatest consensus in the responses was the Democratic Process, with an “almost perfect” agreement. The first version of the instrument has a clear language, practical relevance, and theoretical relevance, also the theoretical dimensions match the theorized. Given the importance that stakeholders have for sports organizations, it is necessary to understand how these entities' managers' actions are perceived by their actors. Satisfying the needs of stakeholders is essential for establishing a lasting and fruitful relationship for both the institution and the agent involved.
