Um modelo de composição corporal de três compartimentos para validar uma equação antropométrica para estimar a gordura em jogadores de futebol americano

Resumo

O objetivo deste estudo foi desenvolver uma nova equação de regressão antropométrica para prever o percentual de gordura corporal (PB) em jogadores de futebol americano usando um modelo de composição corporal de 3 compartimentos (M3C) como referência. Participaram 90 jogadores de futebol americano (idade 22,4 ± 1,7 anos; altura 178,9 ± 6,4 cm; peso 91,9 ± 17,0 kg). O conteúdo mineral ósseo, densidade corporal, dobras cutâneas e circunferência da cintura e quadril foram avaliados. A equação de Lohman foi usada para calcular a porcentagem de gordura corporal de M3C. A análise stepwise e de regressão foi usada para selecionar e desenvolver os modelos finais. A melhor equação foi PGC = 0,265 + (0,328 × SPAPS); SPAPS: soma das dobras cutâneas abdominal, panturrilha e supraespinhal (R2 = 0,83; raiz quadrada do erro padrão = 2,80; p = 0,000). A nova equação não apresentou erros sistemáticos ou proporcionais (interceptação: -3,85 a -0,46; inclinação: 1,01 a 1,22). O viés foi de 0,01 e os limites de concordância foram de ± 5,5 PGC entre a nova equação e o M3C. Desenvolvemos uma nova equação antropométrica específica para estimar a PGC em jogadores de futebol usando apenas 3 dobras cutâneas, tendo como referência um melhor M3C.
