Aplicações da Realidade Virtual para a Inclusão do Autismo. Uma revisão

Resumo

Crianças com Transtorno do Espectro Autista apresentam diversas dificuldades de interação social, obstáculos de comunicação e comportamentos restritos e repetidos. A conexão social com os outros geralmente é um desafio para eles, e eles frequentemente não têm certeza de como reagir às emoções, expressões faciais e movimentos do corpo de outras pessoas e, especialmente, como responder a várias circunstâncias sociais. Estudos de revisão recentes sobre RV para crianças com TEA constataram que a maioria das intervenções relevantes visa melhorar as habilidades sociais e emocionais, bem como as atividades comuns da vida cotidiana. Neste trabalho, apresentaremos estudos das aplicações mais atuais das tecnologias de RV para a educação de alunos com TEA com o objetivo de obter uma visão atualizada do uso da RV neste campo. Foi realizada uma busca minuciosa nas bases de dados Scopus e Pubmed, bem como através do Google Scholar, utilizando as palavras-chave 'Virtual Reality', 'Autism Spectrum Disorder', 'application', 'intervention', 'students', 'education' e suas combinações , para o período 2015-2021. Nossa busca foi limitada a estudos apresentados em inglês. Um total de oito (8) estudos preencheram os critérios de inclusão. A maioria dos resultados que descrevemos foi positiva e bastante animadora, pois os déficits nesses domínios são determinantes na vida dos indivíduos com TEA. Dado que muitas barreiras (por exemplo, em relação a questões de custo e conforto) ao uso das tecnologias de RV foram superadas, mais esforços devem ser colocados na produção de pesquisas experimentais mais amplas e robustas no campo específico, bem como no teste de generalização questões da vida real.
