Uma Uma proposta de Dança Brasileira: Efeitos nos níveis de cognição global de pessoas com Doença de Parkinson

Resumo

O objetivo do presente estudo foi verificar os efeitos de um programa de Dança Brasileira nos níveis de cognição global de pessoas com doença de Parkinson. Havia trinta participantes com esta doença. Eles realizaram 22 aulas de dança brasileira, com duração de uma hora, duas vezes por semana, durante 11 semanas. Para a coleta de dados foram utilizados os seguintes recursos: ficha de dados pessoais dos participantes; Escala Unificada de Avaliação da Doença de Parkinson – parte III, para avaliação de sintomas motores; estágios de Hoehn & Yahr, para estabelecer a progressão da doença; e a Avaliação Cognitiva de Montreal, para avaliar a cognição global. Foi realizado um estudo descritivo e os dados estatísticos verificados por meio do Teste de Shapiro-Wilk. Da mesma forma, o Teste de Wilcoxon foi utilizado para comparar os dados de cognição global antes e após as aulas de Dança Brasileira. Para a análise desses dados, foi aplicado o programa Statistical Package for the Social Sciences versão 20.0. O nível de significância foi α<0,05. Antes e depois das aulas de Dança Brasileira, os participantes obtiveram pontuação média de Comprometimento Cognitivo Leve, com uma melhora modesta. Não houve diferença estatística na cognição global após as aulas de dança (p = 0,195). Por ser uma doença neurodegenerativa e progressiva, a estabilidade nos níveis de cognição global pode ser um resultado positivo para pessoas com doença de Parkinson, demonstrando que a Dança Brasileira pode ser eficaz na manutenção dos níveis de cognição por mais tempo, retardando sua deterioração.
