Comportamento das interleucinas pró-inflamatórias após um contrarrelógio de 20 minutos em ciclistas altamente treinados

Resumo

O papel inflamatório do esforço físico intenso está demonstrado. Assim sendo, o objetivo foi determinar o comportamento das interleucinas pró-inflamatórias após o teste do limiar de potência funcional em ciclistas. Participaram 29 ciclistas do sexo masculino, com uma média de idades de 22±3,9 anos e uma experiência de ciclismo de 6,9±4,2 anos. O teste consistiu num contrarrelógio de 20 minutos. A IL-6, a IL-8 e o TNF-α foram quantificados antes e após 15 minutos do exame, através da amostragem de 5mL de sangue venoso. Resultados. As interleucinas não apresentaram variação significativa entre os momentos pré e pós-teste. O limiar de potência funcional foi UPF20,95%W=256,8±35,6. O perfil de potência foi de AUP20,95%W•kg-1=4,2±1, o que corresponde à categoria de desempenho físico “muito bom”. Conclusões. As interleucinas IL-6, IL-8 e TNF-α não aumentam significativamente quando quantificadas 15 minutos após o limiar de potência funcional. Consequentemente, a determinação do limiar de potência funcional não induz inflamação. Portanto, o limiar de potência funcional pode ser determinado indistintamente no período de treino ou mesociclo dentro da preparação anual de um ciclista, como ferramenta para monitorizar tanto o treino como o desempenho físico dos ciclistas.
