Abstract: The aim of this paper is to theoretically develop a didactical tool in order to enhance skill acquisition in motor activities. This tool is the haptic chains (HC) that represent graphically the connection between key haptic points. The haptic sense (dynamic touch) is crucial in skills with zero distance where visual information is limited and the contact between participants is continuous and paramount. The application of the HC must be complemented by motor metaphors. Centered on implicit instruction, motor metaphors help to comprehend kinetically the movement to be executed. To exemplify the potentiality of the HC, we have chosen two standing judo techniques (O Soto Gariand Harai Goshi) as case studies.
Key words: Haptic chains; Motor Metaphor; Motor skills; Didactic Tool.
