The purpose of this research work is to describe the relationship that exists between lifestyle and the state of anxiety in the performance of young athletes from the State University of Milagro. In order to identify these aspects, a probabilistic convenience sampling was carried out, corresponding to 90 university students, 45 women and 45 men, who fall into the category of young people between the ages of 18 and 29. This is a mixed study to measure the anxiety rates that originate with competitive practice among female and male athletes. In this study, the semi-structured, hetero-administered interview instrument on CRD lifestyle and health status was used and to determine the state of anxiety, the Beck Anxiety Inventory14 was used. The results showed that women reported high levels of anxiety vs. men in a ratio of 43% vs. 40% in the first assessment and in the second of 66% vs. 25% respectively.
Key words: Lifestyle, State of Anxiety, Young University Athlete.
