Decision-making of U-17 soccer players according to positional role

This study aimed to compare the performance and decision-making speed of under-17 soccer players of different positional roles. The sample consisted of 111 players. Data was collected through the TacticUP® platform. Descriptive statistics, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test to check data distribution and the ANOVA inferential test, with the Bonferroni post-hoc, to compare potential differences in performance and decision-making speed among players based on positional role. The results showed that these players performed similarly in decision-making. However, for decision-making speed, defenders were slower than midfielders and forwards, both for offensive and defensive actions near and far from the ball. It can be concluded that decision-making speed differs according to the positional role.
