Based on a sociographic study of the 575 members of the boards and executive committees of 15 listed companies, ranked at the index of the Mexican Stock Exchange from 2000 to 2015, this article analyses the transformations of the Mexican corporate elite. Despite of the economic liberalization, globalization and financialization processes initiated in the early 1980 in Mexico, the largest corporations are still under the control of local shareholders families, in terms of capital and management. Global transformations, such as the rise of managers and the transnationalization of corporate elites, observed in Western countries, did
not arise in Mexico, where family capitalism shows resilience.
