This text discusses some structural limitations that both conventional and new digital Media impose on ociological dissemination. It also shows the role of scholars in promoting sociological knowledge, and the difficulties of communicating it in an attractive way to large audiences. The paper warns about the emergence of a new type of intellectuals, the influencers. Finally, it argues that new digital Media could be not only a useful tool for sociological dissemination, but also to improve the democratic process, providing social knowledge to people and teaching them to think in a scientific way about social challenges.
