El confinamiento por COVID-19: efectos de las condiciones materiales y el contexto social en la salud percibida durante el confinamiento

Resumen

Los confinamientos para controlar la COVID-19 han demostrado ser efectivos desde la epidemiología, pero se sabe menos sobre cómo afectan al bienestar y a la percepción de salud de la población. Basado en la Encuesta Social 2020 para Andalucía (España), este documento tiene como objetivo averiguar cómo el encierro afecta a la salud autopercibida. Al contrario de lo que podría esperarse, la salud percibida de la población mejoró, pero no en todos los grupos sociales – empeoró en los grupos jóvenes y los de bajos ingresos -. La salud percibida se volvió más difícil de predecir con los determinantes clásicos de salud, sociodemográficos, socioeconómicos y residenciales, y los cambios relacionados con el confinamiento se volvieron más relevantes. El contacto con la enfermedad, los problemas económicos derivados del encierro y los cambios en las actividades diarias son factores explicativos clave, afectando especialmente al estado mental y emocional de la población.

José Manuel Torrado, Departamento de Sociología, Universidad de Granada

Doctor en Sociología por la Universidad de Granada, actualmente es profesor en el Departamento de Sociología, Trabajo Social y Salud Pública de la Universidad de Huelva. Sus temas de investigación son la sociología urbana, la demografía y la geografía humana, con especial atención al análisis de los comportamientos residenciales, los flujos de movilidad residencial, el estudio de la delimitación y clasificación de los espacios en base a criterios sociales y funcionales y, más recientemente, los cambios en la movilidad y la vida cotidiana debidos a la COVID-19.

 

Ricardo Duque-Calvache, Departamento de Sociología, Universidad de Granada

Doctor en Sociología y Profesor Adjunto del Departamento de Sociología de la Universidad de Granada (España). Su formación incluyó algunas estancias de investigación en diferentes universidades de Europa y Estados Unidos. Sus temas de investigación se centran en los estudios urbanos y la demografía, con especial atención a los comportamientos residenciales, las áreas metropolitanas, los procesos de gentrificación y, más recientemente, los cambios en la movilidad y la vida cotidiana debidos a la COVID-19.

 

Ángela Mesa-Pedrazas, Instituto de Desarrollo Regional, Universidad de Granada

Investigadora social y doctoranda en Ciencias Sociales por la Universidad de Granada. Su principal objeto de estudio es la construcción social del espacio público en las ciudades. Sin embargo, su campo de investigación y experiencia profesional se extiende a todas las realidades sociales vinculadas a las dimensiones territoriales.
