El regreso de Donald Trump y Palestina: una lectura desde el realismo político transaccional

La crisis en Gaza, originada tras el ataque perpetrado por Hamas el 7 de octubre de 2023 y la posterior respuesta militar de Israel que ha derivado en una emergencia humanitaria sin precedentes, constituye el contexto en Oriente Medio en el que Donald Trump asume nuevamente la Presidencia de Estados Unidos en enero de 2025. Este artículo defiende que la aproximación transaccional de Trump hacia Gaza no es un ejercicio ficticio ni demencial, sino una estrategia racional que persigue activos positivos en su política doméstica y, al mismo tiempo, un cambio regional favorable a los intereses económicos y militares de Estados Unidos e Israel en la zona. En síntesis, el regreso de Trump a la Presidencia no representa una esperanza de paz para los palestinos, sino la gestión de una política exterior enfocada en el impulso de los Acuerdos de Abraham y la reducción máxima de la geografía palestina.
