La doctrina Trump en política exterior: fundamentos, rupturas y continuidades

La política exterior de la Administración Trump ha generado debates de cierta entidad en el marco del estudio de la política exterior estadounidense. El presente artículo pretende –utilizando una metodología basada en elementos teóricos como el realismo neoclásico o el «análisis de política exterior» (Foreign Policy Analysis)– desentrañar los fundamentos de su política exterior en aspectos como el proceso decisorio, los fundamentos doctrinales e ideológicos, así como las rupturas y continuidades con la política exterior de su predecesor. La conclusión de este estudio ofrece una visión más matizada sobre la política exterior de un presidente estadounidense inspirado en diversas fuentes de carácter teórico, con más continuidades con su predecesor de lo que la mayoría de autores reconoce, pero condicionado por un proceso de toma de decisiones disfuncional y una falta de estrategia a medio y largo plazo.
