This work aims to study the episode of Raquel and Vidas, sometimes referred to as the episode of the sand arks, in the Poema de Mio Cid. More specifically, through a review of the literature that this issue has been raising , this article will try to present some of the basic problems of this passage, which could be summarized in three major headings: Judaism, humor and deception, all of them around the delicate point of anti-Semitism. In this way, by studying the different perspectives and always with the text as a basis, certain solutions can be proposed that try to explain the coherence of the episode in the work in which it is inscribed.
