Abstract

Facilities optimal location models and their applicability to spatial planning here come under
review to thus foster their use. The principle models at present to hand, optimization objectives,
and available computing techniques and software are described. Finally, the applications of all
these to the requirements of education, health, emergencies, non-desirable facility calculations,
other like fi elds are set forth.
