Abstract

A spatial approximation of George Bonsor’s discourse about the territory of los Alcores of Seville is the objective of this project, through the analysis of his uncommon research methodology developed at the end of the 19th century. The inclusion of the spatial and temporal components, in relation to the identifying cultural traditions of the research field, characterize the comparative research method of Bonsor. The application of a rigorous procedure of analysis put into practice the dissemination, protection, conservation and appreciation of the archeological, architectural and territorial heritage researched. The scientific recognition and the significance of Bonsor’s work in the national and international field sparked the beginning of a new phase of pro-historic archeological research in Spain, and the comprehension of the historic heritage from the observation of the territory.
