Abstract

Prognostic factors are increasingly determinant in oncological paediatrics for delimiting the greater or lesser risk that might be represented by the tumoural disease, hence the different therapeutic treatments can be randomised in the different groups into which a specific nosological entity divides. By means of this application it is sought to achieve a reduction of unnecessary early or late secondary effects, and to keep the survival curves on the ascendant. In this paper we refer to the prognostic factors in relationship to the affected patient, to the tumour itself, to its histology and even to the treatment proposed in each case. Finally, we briefly include early diagnosis at this age together with the useful points when it comes to setting patterns for one or another therapeutic treatment.
