The issue 34 (2) of the Spanish Journal of Sociology includes a special issue on economic sociology with four articles: a) the Meaning of money, b) new forms of money that can foster freedom, c) the experience of being in debt, and d) why young people don’t turn to banks for financing. In addition, it features six miscellaneous articles. The first examines whether a self-proclaimed feminist government corresponds in practice to its policies and outcomes in Mexico. The second seeks to understand older adults’ loneliness, its influencing factors, and coping strategies. The third analyzes how social media amplify xenophobic discourse. The fourth study explores the professionalization or proletarianization of university faculty. The fifth investigates the effect of teaching styles on the relationship between socioeconomic status and academic performance. The sixth article demonstrates that conceptions of health vary significantly among indigenous peoples, migrants, and members of the Roma community
