This paper describes and analyzes, in the first person, and as a testimony, the author’s career as a press collaborator in the news media, through which he became one of the sociologists with greater public visibility in Spain during three decades. The author’s reflection includes a comparison of that activity with that exercised by the war correspondents who report on armed conflicts, whose last avatar is to be embedded in combat units to assume their vision of the conflict.
