Abstract

In this work, the facies in the faces of the Tamames Limestone quarry walls of Series 2 (Cambrian) in the Las Zorreras quarry (Salamanca) are described and interpreted. All described facies correspond to different zones within carbonate slopes related to overlapping bioherms. The dominant clasts of these facies display a cryptalgal texture, of likely microbial origin. The microbes played a more important role than archeocyats role in te bioconstruction growth dinamycs.
