The emergence of the technical-economic paradigm based on information technology, associated new technologies, and climate change, drastically modified economic and spatial transformations with relevant effects on the social structure of Latin America, in general, and Argentina, in particular. The increase in social inequality and the rise in migration from the countryside and neighboring countries, most intensely manifested in the country's capital cities, where the socio-residential and spatial structure has also been affected, made it impossible for a large percentage of the population to enjoy the right to the city. This article analyses the evolution of these transformations, based on an analysis of the socio-spatial consequences caused by the paradigm shift, with the aim of proposing alternatives for new ways of thinking about cities in order to achieve the right to the city for each and everyone of their inhabitants.
