Abstract

After including in the first participatory budgets of Molina de Segura the realization of a technical and participated diagnosis for the urban renewal of San Roque neighborhood and the transmission to the residents of participatory techniques and tools for urban construction, the resulting report and the proposed solutions disappeared from the municipal agenda. The neighborhood frustration due to the lack of dissemination of the results and the non-visualization of urban solutions led to a protest process that demanded real and influential citizen participation in urban policies. This process resulted in a strategy aimed at strengthening the urban knowledge of the neighbors, causing an empowerment in their ability to manage demands.
