Spatial planning and economic development: with regard to the Strategic Territorial Actions in Valencian Autonomous Region

The work analyses the articulation of mechanisms aimed at economic development in the
framework of territorial planning, supported by the transversal nature of this public service and in the
interests of achieving one of its goals: the socio-economic development balanced. And it does so in a
figure established by the Valencian Community for this purpose: the strategic territorial actions. The bet
made by the strategy Territorial of the Valencian Community in order to achieve a more competitive in the
economical, more environmentally friendly in the environmental and territory more integrative socially,
has one of its pillars in this figure arising in its origin as a novel to betting by supra-municipal singular
intervention actions that contribute to the promotion of economic activity and job creation. Some years
after their implantation in the Valencian context, is suitable to check its emergence and development but
mainly dyed evolution and the opinion of the courts that have already had the opportunity to pronounce
on their suitability for the order legal.
