Abstract

This article discusses an example of actions on classical or traditional commercial environments
from the eighties of the twentieth century up to the present. Beginning with Canada and the United
States and concluding with Europe —Spain and the United Kingdom— to show strategies toward
recovering the commercial attractiveness of the more central areas of the city. As a summary, three
public intervention of generic models are categorize which summarize the previous sample,
articulated on a strategy designed to restore economic activity in the central areas of the city, thus
balancing part of the trade flows towards the periphery.
