Abstract

The paper examines the notion of flexibility in modern housing to the end of attempting to establish the
limits, challenges and areas in which this could be thought applicable. The notion is thought to be within
time a synonym of a variety of architectural properties and undertakings. Flexibility for residential housing
is here felt to carry with it ideas of versatility, perfectibility and mobility. An existing but evolution readied
heavy industrial capacity in held here to be a prior requirement. What is to be sought here is economically
and ecologically viable housing in terms of its specified qualities.
