A Long-Term and Interactive Approach to “Transport-City Planning”, those Excluded from the Success Story of the SBR TransMilenio of Bogota
Keywords:
Movilidad urbana, usos del suelo, precios del suelo, Bogotá (Colombia), TransMilenioAbstract
of Bogotá (Colombia) but is rather aimed at calling attention to two forgotten aspects of the project namely,
the long term and the interactive outcomes of transport access and the uses land is put to. Like anywhere
else, Bogotá has its own dynamics of spatial organization, which are sensitive to changes in the transport
system. Thus any foreseeing of the consequences in the long term of TransMilenio on the city’s structure
calls for an understanding of how this will react to any given a new mass transport system. The methodology
here used is that of a close study of the history of Bogotá during the last century in order to show up its local
structuring process and from this analyse the current trends in the light of the lessons the past offers.
