The detection and quantification of circulating tumour markers can provide useful information that contributes to establishing the diagnosis, the stage and the prognosis of specific tumours. Its fundamental role continues to be that of monitoring the evolution of the disease and evaluating the efficacy of treatment. On very limited occasions, the determination of a tumour marker can direct therapeutic conduct.Downloads
