Reinterpretation of some Entries without a Lemma in the Liber Glossarum

The early medieval encyclopaedic glossary known as the Liber Glossarum organizes its content by alphabetically arranging the concepts it describes. These concepts are introduced through entries composed of two main elements: the lemma and its explanation. However, some entries show a deficiency in that one of these two elements is missing. The present study aims to show that certain entries, interpreted by editors as lacking a lemma due to their position in the manuscripts, have in fact been misinterpreted. By analysing a set of sequential entries that focus on the same concept, it will become evident that the issue is not the absence of the lemma but rather that these entries belong to a broader, earlier content block. Thus, they are not independent entries; instead, they are part of a preceding entry (or entries).
