Guidelines for reviewers

- They should consider the work to be reviewed as a confidential document until publication.
- They should communicate to the Editor, if applicable, that there is a close professional or personal relationship with the authors, or that there are profound scientific discrepancies in the subject of the work to be reviewed that may affect their impartiality.
- They must carry out the review objectively, considering the entire manuscript.
- They should make constructive and well-argued criticisms.
- They must verify that the works cited in the manuscript to be evaluated are relevant to the subject matter. Recommending the reviewer's own published work must be well justified.
- They must warn the Editor about any indication of plagiarism, invented, falsified or manipulated data.
- They must deliver the required report on the manuscript in question on the date agreed with the Editor. If you are unable to meet the deadline, you must inform the Editor as soon as possible.

For manuscript review, please follow the instructions provided, which deal with the submission of your evaluation through the GEOGACETA website.

NOTE: In the December issue of GEOGACETA each year, a list of the names of the persons who have acted as reviewers of the articles published in that year will be published, without identifying the specific papers they have reviewed. If a reviewer does not wish his/her name to be published, he/she should expressly indicate this to the Editor when sending his/her evaluation report.
