La justicia tradicional en la reconciliación de Rwanda y Burundi

El presente artículo examina la utilización de la justicia tradicional en dos posconflictos de la región de los Grandes Lagos, el de Rwanda y el de Burundi. En Rwanda, el Gobierno, en manos del Frente Patriótico Ruandés (FPR), ha modernizado y modelado para sus propios intereses a los gacaca, encargados de juzgar a los victimarios del genocidio de 1994. En Burundi, el Gobierno no ha desplegado todavía los mecanismos de la justicia transicional previstos en los acuerdos de Arusha. A los bushingantahe, cuya rehabilitación está prevista en los acuerdos, no se les ha incorporado, de momento, en la justicia transicional.
