Macedonia: el Acuerdo de Paz de Ohrid y su problemática implementación

Partiendo de los datos que ya conocemos sobre el sistema político macedonio y, en especial, de las causas inmediatas y remotas de la conflictividad interétnica en el país, este estudio intenta analizar las soluciones políticas y jurídico-constitucionales con las que se ha intentando superar el conflicto armado iniciado en la primavera de 2001 con el levantamiento del llamado UÇK en varias zonas del noroeste del país. En particular, se analizará con minuciosidad el contenido del Acuerdo de Paz concluido por las principales fuerzas políticas del país en Ohrid en agosto de ese año, y se dará un repaso al proceso de reformas llamado a implementar su contenido, con especial atención a las relativas a la Constitución, al sistema de autogobierno local y a la legislación electoral. Para concluir, se ensayarán algunas conclusiones que permitan evaluar lo que el conflicto armado y el subsiguiente proceso de paz han supuesto para el sistema político y la convivencia interétnica en Macedonia.
