Asia desde la teoría relacional: un análisis de los casos de la ASEAN, la RCEP y la BRI

Asia es un área de creciente interés político, económico y académico. Los estudios que analizan esta región, donde los intereses de Estados Unidos y China a veces se solapan, habitualmente obvian la agencia de los estados y organizaciones que la componen. Partiendo de la dificultad de abordar la agencia de dichos estados a través del prisma teórico eurocéntrico, este artículo se centra en la siguiente pregunta de investigación: ¿qué elementos novedosos aporta un análisis de las dinámicas regionales asiáticas a través de una aproximación teórica autóctona? Para ello, propone una perspectiva relacional, que coloca los procesos de interacción en el centro y atiende a la agencia de los actores regionales. En concreto, aplica dicho marco a la Asociación de Naciones del Sudeste Asiático (ASEAN) y a dos iniciativas regionales: la Asociación Económica Integral Regional (RCEP) y la Iniciativa la Franja y la Ruta (BRI).
