Migraciones asiáticas y relaciones internacionales: perspectivas de futuro

Las migraciones a menudo se han visto relegadas a un segundo plano en el estudio de las relaciones internacionales. Sin embargo, los complejos cambios que implican la formación de comunidades internacionales y la relativización de las fronteras, así como los desafíos que plantean la necesidad de fortalecer la seguridad, de fomentar el desarrollo y de favorecer el buen gobierno, obligan a plantear una nueva mirada sobre el tema. Este artículo examina algunos de estos elementos en el contexto asiático. En primer lugar, las migraciones son consideradas como un elemento que afecta a las relaciones internacionales en términos de seguridad. En segundo lugar, se contempla el impacto de las migraciones en las relaciones internacionales y se examina el papel de las migraciones en el campo de las relaciones económicas. Finalmente, se revisa la relación entre gobernanza y migraciones, así como los aspectos internacionales de la gestión de las migraciones.
