Después de la tormenta. Unidad, institucionalización y acción cultural de los intelectuales católicos (1956-1962)

Tras el cese de Rafael Calvo Serer en 1953 y la salida del gobierno de Joaquín Ruiz-Giménez en 1956 la confrontación entre los dos grupos de intelectuales católicos continuó varios años más, en un intento de reconstruir las posiciones perdidas a través de tres vías: unidad, institucionalización del régimen e impulso a la acción cultural. Sin embargo, cada vez se haría más evidente la desintegración y la pérdida de peso político de ambos grupos intelectuales, incluso de los monárquicos autoritarios vinculados al Opus Dei, pese a colocar a uno de sus miembros en el gobierno en febrero de 1957. El estancamiento institucional y el retraimiento cultural del régimen acabarían por alejar de él precisamente a los dos protagonistas de la polémica, aunque para ello aún tendrían que llegar fuertes desafíos a la legitimidad del franquismo procedentes de la Europa liberal-democrática, de la Santa Sede y de las huelgas obreras en 1962.Downloads
