Six Episodes in the Drawing-Up of the Draught Project for the Madrid Extension Plan

Abstract

The paper explains that the Madrid Extension Plan was based upon the idea of a web-plan, zoned city and thus one the opposite of Cerda's square-plan grid, homogeneous alternative. The actual circumstances of its being drawn up and the happenings of those times led to this work of two years being drastically reformed by government order in its last ten days. The paper gives us six episodes that, it is felt, explain and throw light upon this strange event.

With the aim of promoting the dissemination of knowledge, CyTET joins the Open Journal Access (OA) movement and delivers all of its content to various national and international indexes, repositories and databases under this protocol; therefore, the submission of a work to be published in the journal presupposes the explicit acceptance by the author of this distribution method.
