Abstract

In the article is studied the relationship between text and image in the incunabula of the Estoria del noble Vespasiano (Seville, 1499). Of the 15 woodcuts of the work, they analyzed only on healing the emperor, in which Veronica plays a fundamental role. Images acquire full meaning in relation to the text embellishing with other engravings of the work and the context of printing in key religious political and anti-Semitic.
