Abstract

Analysis and descriptive comentary on the formal and functional dis- course of iconographic motifs in sentimental ction in its evolution and expansion over more than half a century of the sixteenth century. Special attention in paid to Cárcel de amor by Diego de San Pedro (Zaragoza, Jorge Coci, 1523) with detailed commentary on the approach and dimension of their artistic function. Consideration of the relations and interdependence of the iconographic tradition in the European publishing circuit of works of the sentimental genre.
