This work reflects on the relationship between activation, conditionality and social work within minimum income protection in Europe. Particular attention is given to the combination of responsibility-capability. Indeed, it is considered a central resource for building effective social and labour inclusion policies and interventions. The Capability Approach underlines the importance of social work and opens the way to a renewed dialogue between social policy and social work.
