The article makes use of sociology to present various theoretical and analytical proposals. Local socio-economic development is defined as a socially inductive process that takes place within an institutional context, which condition and facilitates that process. The concept of local collective competitive goods (LCCG) is advocated as an adequate analytical tool to understand current dynamics of local endogenous development. Of special importance are the LCCGs of public-private collaboration, addressed to support networks of innovative Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). The arguments are illustrated with examples of BCCL from three industrial regions with high presence of SMEs: Catalonia, Basque Country and Valencia Region.Downloads
