El uso del término στίγμα (stigma) y su tradición latina en la literatura cristiana primitiva

En época clásica la palabra griega στίγμα, en latín stigma, hacía referencia a los tatuajes que los esclavos o criminales recibían en sus cuerpos para indicar su estatus o crimen cometido. Con la llegada del cristianismo este término adquirió un nuevo sentido, una especialización semántica propia de la literatura cristiana.
En primer lugar, el presente trabajo comienza trazando la etimología de este término y otros de la misma familia léxica a partir de las fuentes más antiguas relevantes para el cristianismo. Después, se analizarán los diferentes contextos en los que se emplean y las acepciones que reciben para, finalmente, determinar la evolución semántica del término en la literatura cristiana latina.
