The italian humanist Fulvius Ursinus (1529-1600) developed a corpus of critical notes to the work of Julius Caesar which were published in a book on various fragments of Roman historians begun by Antonius Augustinus. This paper aims for making clarifications about potential sources the Roman humanist used to prepare these notes and to determine the influences that over coeval humanists could practice on them. In this way it becomes possible to analyze the gestation process of these notes as well as the treatment that Ursinus gives to their sources at the time of making this philological work.
