Despite of his long investigations about conciliar writings, Antonio Agustín did not achieve one of his dreams: to edit a conciliar collection. However, there is a reach document that allows us to rebuild directly his ideas about an editorial project of these dimensions. It is a letter in 1575 to his future colleague Laurentius Surius, where he goes through the 1567 surian edition providing his own viewpoint about several aspects related to a future edition. This paper analizes its content from three prospects: the critical analysis of the councils sources, the design at great lenght of an ambitious editorial project, and the contribution of his own greek and latin manuscripts as new text basis, many of them identified as copies of his library.Downloads
